To ensure local and international competitiveness of the port of Jurmala and to attract the businessmen and tourists, we must develop the infrastructure, including:

• Hydrotechnic structures and navigation equipment for safe navigation,
• Appropriate conditions for the construction of berths, including strengthening and preparation of the banks,
• Available land infrastructure, including streets and roads, public transport, electricity,
• Water supply and waste water collection systems (in cooperation with the city of Jūrmala),
• River transport infrastructure (passenger boats berths) for passenger transport and tourist activities.

To ensure effective use of the port territory and attraction of tourists it is necessary to develop cooperation with the existing and potential companies, in order to develop in the port of Jurmala:

• Yacht berths and services related to their activity,
• Yacht technical maintenance and wintering services, also for foreign customers,
• Coastal fishery, fishing, water sports and other tourist and active sports services.

It is necessary to inform the businessmen and potential travellers of the port of Jurmala as a safe place for navigation and receipt of qualitative services. Recognition of the port of Jurmala must be promoted by:

• Active involvement and cooperation with the international organisations of this sector,
• Implementing public activities,
• Developing the port in line with the Blue flag.
